A lot of mothers complain that their kids don't know their abcs yet. My child doesn't know small 'h' or 'g'. The truth is, the most important thing for small children learning English is the sound, not the name of the letter.
小さいお子様をお持ちの多くのお母様方が「うちの子はアルファベットが読めません」とご心配されます。小さいうちはアルファベットの名前（エイ・ビー・シー等）そのものよりも音を学んでほしいです。

So instead of worrying about the name of the letter 'h', the most important thing is to remember the sound that 'h' makes.
hをエイチと読めるよりもh h h(あえて日本語表示は避けます。）という音を覚えてほしいのです。

When phonics is taught in the US, most teachers concentrate on the small letters first, and only on the sound the letter makes. So if your child knows the sounds for the letters 'b', 'a' and 'g', then he or she can read the word 'bag'! Teach them the entire alphabet of sounds and your child will be able to read a bunch of words like cat, dog, box, etc.

So even if your child has difficulty remembering the abc song, don't worry, the most important thing is remembering the sound the letter makes so later he or she can read.
と言うことでお子様がabc ソングを覚えなくても音を覚えていれば
近い将来単語が読めるようになるという具合なのです。
